Hi boys and girls! I am so happy you are in my class this year. I have been teaching for
over 29 years and each year, I get excited about meeting my students and planning all of the activities
that will help you learn everything you need to know before you go to fifth grade. Since I taught fifth grade
for the first half of my career, I know what you will need in order to be successful at the middle school.
If you work hard, practice what I have taught you, and try your best, you will have a great fourth grade year!
I have been married to Pete, the man in the picture, for over 23 years. We have two sons: John who will be
19 on August 26, and Wil who is 17. My boys keep me very busy. John started college this year, and he goes to
Ohio Northern University to learn how to be a pharmacist. He has joined the marching band and not sure what else
he will be involved in. He has a lot to learn so I hope he will be studying a lot. Will is in 12th grade at
Mayfield High School and plays football and is a member of the track team. He also helps out with scenery and
sets for the musical. All of the men in my family are involved in Boy Scouts. Mr. Gall is a leader, John has earned
his Eagle Scout Rank, and Will is working on his project to earn his Eagle Scout Rank. He is building 3 benches for
a special horseback riding farm that helps people with special needs.
When I am not running my boys around, I like to read, walk, travel, enjoy my flower garden, and visit with
friends. One of my favorite books is Shiloh. This is a book about a boy who tries to help a dog who is
mistreated by his owner. Katy Perry is one of my favorite musicians, and The Wizard of Oz is one of my
favorite movies.. My favorite snacks are popcorn and chocolate, and I love to play Apples to Apples and
Connect 4.
The most exciting thing that happened in the last year is that my family got a puppy. His name is Hoover
because dogs like to eat everything up that falls on the floor. He is a golden retriever and is 1 years old.. I am
worried that he will be lonely when we go back to school. He is finally starting to behave and learn tricks.
The picture up above was taken several years ago in Arizona on an Indian Reservation. We will learn about
reservations later this year. The picture below is what my boys look like now and there is a picture of Hoover.
I hope you have a great 4th grade year!
